I also had a backpack and put my phone and car keys in a ziplock bag and boy did that save my life with the deep water, highly recommend if you don’t have a waterproof case. You NEED water shoes, I was most comfortable in shorts and bikini bottoms as pants will get wet. Turned out.the city area with lots of dining options.was actually nearby.īut.higher than expected prices.not cool stuff.just your regular thrift store stuff. That was also disappointing as we were in the middle of nowhere and my kids were hungry. Small dining area was closed.except for coffee and sweet treats. Then u get what u get.the disappointment wouldn't be on them at that point.but what's in the trunk.because baaaaaby.no way was half the stuff worth the prices I saw. I think they should tap into probably selling the stuff in luggages.and make the items be mysterious.that would be cool.matching the name of the place. I actually agreed with all the lowest stars reviews. a long time picker.Ī huge disappointment.I should have read the reviews before my planned trip. Anything used that is offered here, you can find elsewhere used at a cheaper price. To avoid disappointment, I'd only visit if I was in the area. If you making a special trip from a long distance be prepared for a lot of sticker shock. I thought we would walk out with several shopping bags of items. Another sales lady told me 70% of the items are unclaimed freight and the other 30% are new stocked items. I was talking to a sales lady and she told me it takes a long, long, long time for anything to go down in price. It looks like a Mall Store filled with mostly used overpriced items. My husband has been wanting to come here for years and we finally made it. When I walk around for 90 minutes and purchase 1 item (under $5), something is wrong. In my opinion, they are seriously overpriced big time!! I like to shop and don't hesitate to pick up a good deal but this store didn't ring my bell. I can see where some people would enjoy this store. I loved that they had this really neat bicycle tuning tool near the parking lot! I've never seen anything like it! It had everything you could need to fix anything with your bike. You get a great overview of the city from even the base of the statue! There are binoculars to use, and a little drink and snack cart (with adult beverages!) to treat yourself after that hike. I would have loved to see more of the cave aspect, but I can only imagine it's not as safe or stable. It also gives a history of why this spot was so important to Birmingham. The museum is nicely done, approximately 7-8 rooms with the history of the town, culture, community, and struggles. One $6 ticket allows you into the museum and a ride up the elevator to the feet of the statue (or you also have the option to walk the staircase *inside* the pillar, which is absolutely what I did!). I love that this was a fun and easy hike up to from 5 points! I didn't get to go exploring the trails, just the museum and statue, but still enjoyed it quite a lot.
