It has a much better feel than the Chromecast's in my opinion, especially the circle nav and the select button. The one thing I prefer about a Firestick is the remote. All the apps I used on my Firestick work great on the CC. I find it easier to set up a new Chromecast (or similar device) by having a folder of my APKs and just pushing them all at once. as with my Firestick I install most of my maps via ADB using ADBLink. Spotify casts really well, but it does that with every device, no surprise there. Long pressing my Netflix button is play/pause. I have the YouTube button mapped to SmartTube, and the Netflix button mapped to my security camera. remapping the app keys using Button Mapper Pro. I use the Wolf Launcher for its minimalist design, here's a pic. Personally I don't want my launcher to show me any suggestions or ads, if I want suggestions I'll open an app. swapping the launcher using Launcher Manager really cleans up the Chromecast's home screen. Does mirroring work as well from iOS devices too? mirroring my phone's screen works great too, and seems higher resolution? Not sure about that part though. Maybe a little low resolution but usable. mirroring my Windows laptop's screen works great, either the whole screen or a Chrome tab. Almost no lag at all for pictures, and a couple of seconds for videos. Since I'm bored on a rainy day I'm wondering what interesting tricks other than TV stuff people have found for the Chromecasts? My list so far: Thankfully someone recommended a CCwGTV HD. I'm a refugee from the Firestick world after I finally got fed up with all the ads (oops I mean "suggestions") that Amazon bombards their users with, and Amazon keeps locking down all the ways the community comes up with to bypass those ads. I'm new to Chromecast and really liking it. ![]()
